High-Precision Pressure Sensor from Freescale

The Xtrinsic MPL3115A2 from Freescale Semiconductor, Austin, TX, is a high-precision pressure sensor for altitude detection designed to help you leverage advanced navigation capabilities and emerging location-based services such as GPS and e911. The device processes pressure and temperature locally, requiring fewer computations to be assigned to the applications processor and provides altimetry and barometric pressure detection with up to 30 cm of resolution, with a digital output in either meters or Pascals. The pressure sensor features a FIFO memory buffer, 2 µA standby mode, 8.5 µA low-power mode, temperature compensation, autonomous DA with 2 interruptions on thresholds detection, and variable sampling rates up to 128 Hz.
