The VSA-1225 PDA-based vibration analyzer/data collector from Datastick Systems Inc., Santa Clara, CA, includes the company's v1.8 Spectrum software suite. The device consists of Datastick hardware and software, a Hewlett-Packard iPAQ handheld computer, and one or more sensors. The hardware module attaches to the PDA, which supplies computing power and data storage, while the module provides sensor power, Datastick electronics, and interface. Data are stored on SD memory cards. The module has a standard BNC connector and a very low-noise input that accommodates and powers most ICP-type piezoelectric accelerometer or velocity sensors.
