Magnetic Hall effect sensors from Baumer, Southington, CT, have a max. switching frequency of 20 kHz and are designed to detect moving ferromagnetic objects, such as toothed wheels, gears, or racks. The sensors can replace incremental encoders for detecting rotational speed or direction and can withstand temperatures from –40°C to 120°C. The front face of the M12 full metal jacket is SS to protect the sensor's electronics from aggressive environments. Operating voltage range is 8–28 VDC. Applications include aerospace, automotive, energy, heavy equipment, marine, food and beverage processing, medical device manufacturing, metalworking, chemical processing, packaging, and water treatment.
