The A7717 from Allegro MicroSystems Inc., Worcester, MA, is an ultrasensitive Hall effect switch with latched digital outputs and unipolar or omnipolar actuation. Features include 1.65–3.5 V operating supply voltage, 2 by 1.5 by 0.4 mm package size, push-pull complementary outputs, and a clocking algorithm to assist in reducing the average operating power consumption (<15 µW with a 2.75 V supply). In default mode, the device will actuate output switching with either a north or south polarity magnetic field of sufficient strength. You can also set the polarity-specific actuation.
