Hall Effect Sensors Offer Custom Solutions At COTS Pricing
December 26, 2013
Boasting custom designs at cost-off-the-shelf (COTS) prices, Melexis Technologies adds two devices to its programmable digital Hall-effect sensor line: the MLX92231 and MLX92211. Both integrate EEPROM, allowing configuration of magnetic switching thresholds including hysteresis. Pre-programmed to Hall-effect switch or latch specs, the MLX92211 targets designs requiring latch-magnetic characteristics and the MLX92231 supports switch magnetic behavior. A unique 32-bit ID code in each sensor enables lifetime traceability. Shared features of both include an operating-voltage range from 2.7V to 24V, operational temperature range from -40°C to +150°C, and AEC-Q100 qualification, making them suitable for use in automotive and industrial designs. Datasheets for the MLX92231 and MLX92211 are available for download at http://www.melexis.com/Assets/MLX92231_Datasheet-6314.aspx and http://www.melexis.com/Assets/MLX92211-DataSheet-5891.aspx, respectively.
