The MLX92213 from Melexis Microelectronic Integrated Systems N.V., Ypres, Belgium, and Concord, NH, is a low-voltage, Hall effect latch sensor that integrates advanced power management for use in battery or handheld applications. The device enhances the efficiency and power consumption of all scrolling or trackball-type applications found in computer peripherals, mobile phones, and other handheld consumer devices. Features include an ultra-sensitive Hall effect latch operating from 1.6–3.6 V; a push-pull type output; avg. current consumption <50 µA at 3 V; and accurate and stable magnetic switching points, independent of temperature and mechanical stress.
