April 16, 2008

The ACS756 from Allegro MicroSystems Inc., Worcester, MA, is a low-noise, open-loop Hall effect current sensor with a 125 kHz bandwidth capability. An internal electrostatic shield shunts the effects of voltage transient spikes around the silicon and minimizes the voltage ripple on the output of the device. An integrated core provides fast response capability. The sensor is suited for 50 A to 100 A motor and inverter control, power supply control and protection, and other high-side current sensing applications.
