The handheld HGM68 from Omega Engineering Inc., Stamford, CT, provides fast and accurate measurement of the moisture and temperature in allotment, acquisition, storage, and machining of packed grains. The digital device uses a one-chip microprocessor, has a moisture measurement range of 8%–20% with ±1% of reading accuracy, has a temperature measurement range of –10°C to 55°C with 0.8°C accuracy, and operates in humidity <85%. Other features include a large 3-digit LCD, red LED bar graph, min./max. memory with data hold, a weight of 280 g, and dimensions of 176 by 68 by 39 mm.
