The CANminiBOX from Janz AG, distributed in the U.S. by Saelig Co. Inc., Pittsford, NY, is a compact embedded controller suited for embedded CANbus control applications. The controller features an AMD Élan 133 MHz SC520 processor with 128 MB internal SD-RAM; 512 MB CompactFlash; front-panel availability for Ethernet, status LEDs, an RS-232 port, a CAN port, and a USB 1.1 port; ESD protection of 2 kV; fanless operation; and an ambient temperature range of 0°C–50°C. Units are 10–28 VDC powered. Linux comes preinstalled as standard, although QNX or VxWorks can be integrated.
