Explosionproof Noncontact Encoder from Joral
May 28, 2008
The Model XPHP from Joral Devices, Waukesha, WI, is an explosionproof encoder that can magnetically sense rotational motion at rates up to 6000 rpm through its aluminum housing. The 3.5 in. dia. housing has three 0.5 in. NPT conduit feedthrough hubs and comes with a mounting bracket and magnet; the magnet is attached to the rotating device and the XPHP is mounted close to the magnet on center. The encoder tolerates distance, alignment, and angular changes. Features include LED status indicators; quadrature, SSI, or analog outputs; a range of resolutions; 6–36 VDC power supply range; and absolute or incremental outputs. It carries FM, CSA, NEMA 4X, and UL Class I, Groups B, C, and D, Class II, Groups E, F, and G, and Class III certifications.
