The improved Model 137B23 from PCB Piezotronics Inc., Aerospace & Defense Div., Depew, NY, is a quartz, free-field, ICP blast pressure pencil probe that now has improved durability and alignment. The pencil probes have a microsecond response time with resonant frequencies to 500 kHz and output is a high-level 5 V signal. Blast pressure pencil probes are designed for a range of explosion, blast, and shockwave testing, such as measuring blast pressure in free-field or closed bunker areas to obtain peak pressure, total impulse, shockwave, and time-of-arrival measurements used to study blast effects on structures, vehicles, and humans.
