The RIO-47120 from Galil Motion Control Inc., Rocklin, CA, is a 3.88 by 4.26 by 1.30 in. Ethernet I/O controller with 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, 16 optically isolated inputs, 8 high-power isolated outputs rated at 500 mA, and 8 isolated outputs rated at 25 mA. You can use multiple RIO units in a system. Voltage range for the analog I/O is user-programmable to 0–5 V, 0–10 V, ± 5V, and ±10 V; resolution is 12 bits standard with 16-bit resolution available as an option. Features include a RISC processor for intelligent I/O processing, an Ethernet 10/100Base-T port, RS-232 port, a Web interface, email capability, and the ability to operate as a stand-alone device, connected to other I/O devices, or connected to the company's Ethernet motion controllers.
