The handheld IENet PRO from IDEAL Industries Inc., Sycamore, IL, lets you verify the integrity of 2- and 4-pair industrial Ethernet cables and lets you ensure proper terminations by detecting opens, shorts, miswires, reversals, and split pairs in fractions of a second. The device features an ergonomic design; integrated RJ-45 and shielded M12 coax interfaces; Profinet-formatted results; and pushbutton selection of voice, 2- and 4-pair data, or video. It can measure cable length, indicate correct wiremap to T568A/B standards for shielded and unshielded cabling, warn you of voltages on cables, blink network hubs for visual cable tracing, and generate 4 unique tones to make fault isolation easier. A detachable remote enables one person operation.
