Enterprise-Class WSN from Arch Rock

Arch Rock Corp.
April 16, 2008

The PhyNet IP-based platform from Arch Rock Corp., San Francisco, CA, implements a tiered wireless sensor network (WSN) architecture. Sensor applications can communicate with any number of WSNs, located anywhere, across local- or wide-area IP networks. PhyNet uses standard IP technology throughout, meaning sensor nodes can communicate directly with any other IP devices on the enterprise network, regardless of connection medium. The architecture includes the PhyNet server that manages collections of WSNs and displays sensor data on a Web-based user console. The management server connects via LAN or WAN IP networks to the PhyNet Router which provides an inter-networking backbone between an IETF 6LoWPAN-based WSN and its server-hosted applications. Routers connect via IEEE 802.15.4 radio links to nodes, including the new IPserial node.
