The THINERGY MPM101 from Infinite Power Solutions (IPS), Littleton, CO, is <3 mm thick by 26 mm by 26 mm and is a solid-state rechargeable micro-energy cell (MEC) that provides nearly lossless energy storage and high power density. Each module combines the MEC with the company's Passive Power Management Unit (PPMU) that provides the interface between an energy harvesting circuit and the MEC for optimal charge management. The PPMC charges the MEC while consuming <3 nA of quiescent current. Each module has both AC and DC inputs and accepts energy from all forms of ambient energy harvesters.
