AdaptivEnergy LLC, Hampton, VA, offers the Joule-Thief compact, self-contained, vibration energy harvester designed to provide a standard 3.6 VDC output. The module contains an energy harvesting beam based on the company's ruggedized laminated piezo technology in addition to energy collection and storage circuitry. Several energy storage options are available to let you match the module's storage capacity to the application; standard modules store from 1.4–430 mJ, depending on storage device used. Modules are designed to harvest vibration energy from typical AC-powered devices. A wireless sensor demo kit is available.
