The SMART Energy Harvester Development Kit from Smart Material Corp., Sarasota, FL, combines a simple desktop shaker, a suitable power amp unit, several macro fiber composite (MFC) generator structures, and three measurement circuit modules. The modules are variable impedance/rectifier, energy measurement, and µC energy harvesting circuits. Designed to let you study causal relations between mechanical input parameters and electrical outputs, the excitation for the harvester can be applied either using an internal sine wave generator or any other sampled signal from a real environment on the 0 dB external source input.
