The Wave-Phire from Oxsensis Ltd., Oxford, UK, is a dynamic pressure sensor that can operate up to 1000°C and has been used in several full-scale gas turbine trials and combustion rigs. The micromachined sapphire sensing element can withstand and operate under high temperatures and pressures and resist the harsh chemical and mechanical environment of a combustion system. The sensor is immune to EMI effects.
