The ADIS16209 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, is a programmable, dual-mode MEMS inclinometer that provides a fully compensated direct angle output with <0.1° linear inclination error. An embedded controller uses factory-installed calibration coefficients to dynamically sense the system environment and compensate the direct-digital angular output to account for changes in voltage, temperature, angle, and other variables. Range is ±30° (mounted horizontally) and 360° (mounted vertically). Features include SPI output, 0.025° inclination resolution, 0.244 mg acceleration resolution, digital self-test, and configurable condition monitoring, including alarms.
