The RS9333 from Redpine Signals Inc., San Jose, CA, is a simultaneous dual-band 5 GHz MIMO 802.11ac and 2.4 GHz BT4.0 802.11n chipset that offers PHY data throughputs up to 1.3 Gbps and an advanced 802.11ac feature set encompassing multi-user MIMO and LDPC. The reconfigurable single-chip simultaneous dual-band capability lets you configure the chipset on the fly through software as either a 3x3 802.11ac system in 5 GHz or simultaneous 2x2 11ac in 5 GHz and 1x1 802.11n in 2.4 GHz. The chipset also supports BT4.0 in 2.4 GHz, which coexists with the on-chip 802.11n/ac, and provides PCI-e, USB, and SDIO 3.0 host interfaces. The integrated ThreadArch 4-threaded processor with onchip memory enables high throughputs at low host overhead.
