Distance Measurement Sensor from SICK

Distance Measurement Sensor from SICK
March 19, 2008

The DS30 from SICK Inc., Minneapolis, MN, is a proximity-style distance measurement sensor with a single pnp or npn output capable of detecting virtually any target within its 2 m range. The sensor can detect flat black and shiny targets at the same range repeatedly. Features include true time-of-flight operation, off-axis and shiny material detection, hybrid laser for high gain reserves under dirty conditions, and precise background suppression for detection in surroundings where there are other reflectors, reflective safety clothing, and shiny metal objects. Applications include pallet bay/bin empty/full detection and loop control for web materials.
