PerkinElmer Optoelectronics, Fremont, CA, offers the DigiPyro digital pyroelectric IR sensor for home and industrial motion detection applications. The PYD 1998 dual-element pyrodetector combines a ceramic dual-element configuration with an integrated ADC. In contrast to traditional detection instrumentation, the DigiPyro does not require additional signal processing components. Features include improved EMI immunity and a power supply rejection ratio improved by 30 dB, as well as a 32-fold improvement over traditional analog pyrodetectors.
