Digital Ambient Light Sensors from TAOS Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS) Inc. March 21, 2010 Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS) Inc., Plano, TX, offers the TSL2771 family of digital ambient light and proximity sensors that are designed to operate behind darkened glass or other translucent materials. The devices incorporate an IR LED current-limited driver, ADC, interrupt capability, multiple I2C interface voltage options, and flexible programming. A dual-photodiode architecture allows the sensor to adjust to compensate for the increased IR component since darkened glass or translucent materials can be transparent to IR while attenuating visible light. The TSL2580/1 high-sensitivity ambient light sensors are for applications that require only ambient light sensing. |
