The AST5300 from American Sensor Technologies (AST) Inc., Mt. Olive, NJ, is a wet/wet differential pressure transducer for use in explosionproof and nonincendive areas. Features include 316L and Inconel X750 material; suitability for high-line-pressure (1500 psi) and low-differential-pressure (10 psid) measurements; lack of fluid-fill cavities; Class I, II, and III explosionproof (AST53ED) and Class I Div. 2 nonincendive (AST53EN) approvals; and a choice of 4—20 mA, 0.5—4.5 V ratiometric, 0—5 V, and 1—5 V outputs. The sensor uses an LVDT and corrugated diaphragm to make measurements. Applications include cryogenic level, pharmaceutical processing, and gas compression systems.
