Lantronix Inc.
May 11, 2006

The RoHS-compliant UDS1100 external device server from Lantronix Inc., Irvine, CA, supports RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communications and allows you to access, monitor, and control equipment via Ethernet. The device encapsulates serial data into packets and transports it over Ethernet. You can perform serial tunneling by using Com Port Redirector software, where device applications not designed for network communications are redirected to communicate with devices connected to the device server. Alternatively, you can configure 2 device servers to automatically talk to each other over the network.
