FreeWave Technologies, Boulder, CO, has added a new suite of IO Expansion modules for its wireless data radios. The stackable modules snap onto the company's radios or other serial communication devices, letting you add I/O and providing faster access times for up to 192 I/O points. Channels are universally configurable for analog input, analog output, digital input, digital output, and sensor power. All provide 4 universal channels and 4 input-only channels. The IOE-4440 serial base and IOEX-4440 add 4 isolated digital input channels and no isolated digital output channels; the IOE-4422 serial base and IOEX-4422 expansion module add 2 isolated digital input channels and 2 isolated digital output channels; and the IOE-4404 serial base and IOEX-4404 expansion module add no isolated digital inputs and 4 isolated digital outputs. Applications include oil and gas multiple well pad applications, electrical power transformer monitoring, and water/wastewater monitoring.
