The RC2300-ZNM from Radiocrafts AS, Oslo, Norway, is a ZigBee network module with an API. Targeted for home, building, and industrial automation; sensor networks; wireless security and alarm systems; automatic meter reading; remote control and telemetry; and fleet and asset management applications, the module operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band for worldwide usage. The compact, surface-mounted module is 12.7 by 25.4 by 2.5 mm including EMC shielding and integrated antenna. The ZigBee application runs in an external controller, communicating with the module via an easy to use API. Used with a quarter-wave antenna, LOS range is 250 m; indoor range is 10–30 mm typ. Sleep mode current draw is <1 µA.
