The PointWatch Eclipse carbon dioxide detector from Detector Electronics (Det-Tronics) Corp., Minneapolis, MN, is an IR fixed-point gas detector that provides nonintrusive calibration and communication options including 4—20 mA, Modbus, relays, and HART. The device uses the company's PIRECL optical carbon dioxide sensor that is immune to pressure and temperature transients and features heated optics; built-in relays; compatibility with the company's FlexVu displays; nonintrusive calibration without having to declassify the hazardous area; and testing and certification to CSA, ATEX, INMETRO, and IECEx requirements. Applications include refining; carbon dioxide pipelines, shipping, and monitoring; landfill gas monitoring; and LNG plants.
