Capacitive Sensor Signal Conditioning IC from ZMD

The ZSSC3123 from ZMD AG, Dresden, Germany, is a capacitive sensor signal conditioning IC with 14-bit resolution and 0.25% accuracy over a wide range of sensor capacitances and temperatures. Features include an operating current as low as 60 µA over the 2.3–5.5 V voltage range, a built-in sleep mode that lowers the current consumption to <1 µA for temperatures up to 85°C, and the ability to interface the IC with capacitive sensors from 0.5–260 pF. Sensitivity is as low as 125 aF/digital bit. The IC can be used in both single- and differential-input sensor configurations. It connects to microcontrollers but can be used in standalone designs for transducer and switch applications. (U.S.: 631-549-2666)
