PIC18F K80 8-bit CAN microcontrollers from Microchip Technology Inc., Chandler, AZ, feature 1.8–5.5 V operation and eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology for sleep-mode current consumption of <20 nA. The microcontrollers also feature an onchip 12-bit ADC and a peripheral that enables mTouch capacitive touch sensing user interfaces. The microcontrollers are suited for automotive applications such as body control modules, automotive lighting, door/seat/steering/window control; HVAC control; and industrial and medical applications. Development support includes two PIC18 Explorer board plug-in modules that can be used with the CAN/LIN PICtail Plus daughter board or Explorer 16 development boards.
