The Photron Fastcam Viewer (PFV) plug-in from Photron Inc., San Diego, CA, synchronizes the company's high-speed cameras with the NI USB-6251 BNC DA module from National Instruments. The DA module provides 8 differential (16 single-ended) analog channels with an aggregate 1 million sps, single-channel data rate. The plug-in is controlled by the PFV camera control software and enables simultaneous recording and playback of analog data synchronized with high-speed video sequences recorded with the company's cameras, at frame rates from 60 to 1.5 million fps. Level Detection Triggering lets the system monitor DA signals from an event and automatically trigger the camera to start or stop recording when levels exceed the user-set reference values.
