The BAL-2000 from Datastick Systems Inc., Santa Clara, CA, is a portable, USB-powered, single-plane or 2-plane balancing system that works with Windows desktop and laptop computers. Systems include the BAL-2000 module that attaches to the USB port of the PC or laptop, 1 or 2 ICP-type accelerometers, magnetic mounts and cables, and software. The laser photocell lets you mount the phase pickup up to 2 ft. or more from the shaft with the reference mark. The included phase-reference laser tachometer has programmable gain. Visual readout shows signal level and phase tracking.
