Cognex Corp., Natick, MA, has added automatic tuning to its OCRMax technology, available in the In-Sight Explorer 4.8 and VisionPro 8.1 software releases. When you click the auto-tune button, the system acquires a sample image and automatically adjusts the tool to its optimal parameters for robust reading performance. The OCRMax algorithm prevents misreads and provides font management for OCR and OCV. OCRMax can handle character variations, text skew, proportional fonts, and variable string lengths and provides high read rates, reduced set-up time, and faster deployment.
