California Eastern Laboratories, Santa Clara, CA, offers the FreeStar Pro 32-bit ARM-based ZigBee module based on Freescale's MC13224V. The 23 by 31 mm module features an integrated antenna, optional interface for an external antenna, support for Freescale's BeeStack software, 20 dBm output power, and a range >4000 ft. Applications include remote sensing, AMR/AMI, home and building automation, industrial control, and security. FreeStar Evaluation Kits provide 2 modules mounted on self-contained interface boards and evaluation software. Boards can be optionally battery powered to let you create and test network connections under real-world environmental conditions.
