The TSL2x72 Series from Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions (TAOS) Inc., Plano, TX, include the TSL2572 family of digital ambient light sensors, the TSL2672 family of proximity detection sensors, and the TSL2772 family of integrated digital ambient light and proximity detection sensors. Intended for use in smartphone, tablet, and HDTV applications, the sensors provide ambient light sensing and proximity detection in environments over 60,000 lux (sunlight). Features include new programmable gain modes, including a reduced gain mode; increased signal-to-noise performance for proximity detection; and a programmable register that allows compensation for optical signal crosstalk. An automatic power-down mode after interrupt reduces system power consumption.
