Designed to continuously monitor critical machinery, the Model 682A08 from IMI Sensors Div., PCB Piezotronics Inc., Depew, NY, is an ICP accelerometer signal conditioner with dual semiconductor relay alarms and 4–20 mA signal transmission. The module provides excitation power for industry standard 100 mV/g ICP accelerometers and can integrate the signal into velocity. Selectable low-pass filters at 1 kHz or 10 kHz and high-pass filters at 3 Hz or 10 Hz are standard. The acceleration or velocity signal is retransmitted as a 4–20 mA output for trending or interfacing with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. The device also outputs the raw vibration signal for frequency analysis and system diagnostics.
