AFEs Perform Multi-Load Power Monitoring

Chiseled for energy-measurement chores, the MCP3913 and MCP3914 analog front ends (AFEs) integrate six and eight 24-bit, delta-sigma ADCs, respectively, with 94.5 dB SINAD, -106.5 dB THD, and 112 dB SFDR. The MCP3914’s two extra ADCs enable the monitoring of more sensors with one chip. Other shared features include a programmable data rate of up to 125 ksamples/s and a CRC-16 checksum and register-map lock. Both AFEs are available in 40-pin uQFN packages and the MCP3913 offers a 28-pin SSOP option. The MCP3913 and MCP3914 AFEs are both available for sampling and volume production, with prices starting at $3.04 each/5,000-unit quantities.
