850 nm IR Emitter Integrates Lens In Tiny Package

Measuring 3.85 mm x 3.85 mm x 2.24 mm in a top-view SMD package, the VSMY98545 850-nm infrared (IR) emitter features an integrated lens that supports a ± 45° angle of half intensity, resulting in ultra-high radiant intensity of 350 mW/sr at 1A and 1600 mW/sr at 5A (pulses). The VSMY98545 features a 42 mil x 42 mil emitter chip that supports a thermal resistance of 10 K/W junction-to-pin and enables drive currents up to 1A and pulses up to 5A. Other features include switching speeds down to 15 ns, forward voltages down to 1.8V at 1A, and operating temperatures from -40°C to +95°C.
