The 7I49 6-channel resolver interface with 6 additional ±10 V analog outputs from Mesa Electronics, Richmond, CA, is a daughtercard for the company's Anything I/O series of FPGA-based interface cards. Intended for applications that read stand-alone resolvers, the 7I49 generates the resolver reference excitation and can be used with 1:1 and 1:2 transformation ratio resolvers. Features include ~14-bit resolution, 12 bits of absolute accuracy, selectable excitation frequencies from 2.5–10 kHz, host position register updated at 256 times the excitation frequency, and approx. 1 rpm velocity resolution. The daughtercard uses an oversampling ADC followed by a tracking filter.
