JAI Inc., San Jose, CA, offers the monochrome BM-500CL and raw Bayer color BB-500CL 5 Mpixel progressive-scan cameras in the Basic tier of its C3 camera suite. Cameras are equipped with a Camera Link interface and are built around the SONY ICX625 2/3 in. CCD sensor. Features include thermal management and preprocessing (automatic white balance, LUT, and blemish compensation), 15 frames/s at full 5 Mpixel resolution, partial scanning and binning modes, auto-iris lens control, and 12-, 10-, or 8-bit Camera Link output. Applications include automotive part inspection, glass inspection, traffic enforcement, fruit sorting on conveyor belts, and facial recognition at security checkpoints.
