The A406k from Basler Vision Technologies, Ahrensburg, Germany, is a Camera Link camera that provides 209 frames/s at full 2320 by 1726 pixel resolution. Available in monochrome and color versions, the camera uses a CMOS sensor with a rolling shutter. A flash window provides an output signal when all the lines in the sensor are ready for exposure and allows a global shutter to be simulated. Calibration and correction corrects deviations in the camera's ADCs, fixed pattern noise, and photo response nonuniformity. A 10-tap, 85 MHz Camera Link configuration enables the frame rate, transferring ~800 MBps of data. Applications include verifying the position and soldering quality of devices on populated, soldered PCBs.
