Microchip Technology Inc., Chandler, AZ, offers the PIC32 family of 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) that add more performance and more memory while maintaining pin, peripheral, and software compatibility with the company's 16-bit microcontroller/digital signal conditioner families. The PIC32 family operates at up to 72 MHz and offers code- and data-space capabilities with up to 512 KB of Flash memory and 32 KB of RAM. Integrated peripherals include communications, a 16-bit parallel master port, and a single-supply on-chip voltage regulator. The PIC32 starter kit includes the USB-powered MCU board, MPLAB IDE and MPLAB C32 C compiler, documentation, sample projects, and 16-bit compatible peripheral libraries.
