2-Wire Transmitter Interface Modules from Dataforth
July 23, 2008
SensorLex 8B42 two-wire transmitter interface modules from Dataforth Corp., Tucson, AZ, provide isolation for nonisolated 2-wire transmitters. Each module supplies power to a current transmitter, then isolates, filters, and amplifies the resulting process current input signal and provides an analog voltage output. Features include ±0.05% typ. accuracy, ±0.02% linearity, a 3-pole low-pass filter, 1500 Vrms transformer isolation, up to 40 Vrms field-side protection, ANSI/IEEE C37.90.1 transient protection, 5 V power, and 12 VDC loop supply. Applications include mobile test stands, COTS military and defense, miniaturized security and surveillance systems, and embedded process controls for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
