Fremont, CA (April 23, 2015) The Internet Protocol for Smart Objects Alliance (IPSO Alliance) will conduct a one-day interoperability event on May 20, 2015 in conjunction with their bi-annual Member Meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. The demonstration will test interoperability between connected devices, services, and applications using standard web interfaces and the IPSO Smart Object data model. The goal of the event is to test various levels of smart object implementations using different application layer protocols, hardware and use cases.
"This interoperability event will give participants an opportunity to test their implementations of IPSO Smart Objects and Smart Object applications, learn how to design interoperable systems and influence the future development of IPSO Smart Objects," said Smart Object Committee Co-Chair, Michael Koster.
IPSO Alliance members, ARM, Ericsson, Hop Ubiquitous, Intel, SICS, and Yanzi will assemble a network of connected devices, services, and applications, using elements from the IPSO Alliance Smart Object Starter Pack and ad-hoc Smart Objects. IPSO Alliance will host a connected device infrastructure available to all participants based on CoAP and the OMA Lightweight Machine to Machine (LWM2M) specification, with a simple REST API for application programming. Participants can bring devices to connect, services to host connected devices, application software environments, or any combination of these to the event. Service API specifications will be published in advance of the testing, and participants will have early access for pre-testing.
