Savi’s Wireless Technology Field Tested

Rigorous government and industry evaluations, which included DASH7 certification and ISO 18000-7 validation, demonstrate the operational dependability and accuracy of Savi’s RFID products for smart asset management.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Savi Technology's low-power wireless sensor technology recently demonstrated its operational performance, reliability, and accuracy in separate field tests recently conducted by government- and industry-backed authorities. Savi Technology's passage of the tests provides customers with reinforced confidence in the company's solutions and the added benefit of third-party performance and reliability certification.

Savi Technology's products became the first to achieve DASH7 Certified status in tests administered by Met Laboratories, an independent testing authority working with DASH7, a nonprofit industry consortium that promotes the use of the ISO 18000-7 standard for wireless sensor networking. Further, Savi's RFID products were "verified and validated" as compliant with the ISO 18000-7 standard by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), an independent testing authority working on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense.

During the field tests, Savi Technology's ST-654 high-performance, data rich tags, and SR-650 fixed readers were "industry's first products to pass the DASH7 certification program," also ensuring their compliance with ISO 18000-7 standards for active RFID. The conformance and interoperability tests were conducted by MET Laboratories on behalf of the DASH7 Alliance, a nonprofit industry consortium, with more than 50 participating organizations promoting the use of the ISO 18000-7 standard.

In separate tests, PNNL verified and validated that Savi Technology's RFID tags and readers meet new ISO 18000-7 requirements under the DoD's $429-million RFID III contract, which is a competitively bid Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract. Savi Technology has been the leading provider of RFID-based supply tracking solutions to the DoD for more than 15 years, and helped it build the RF In-Transit Visibility network, the world's largest active RFID cargo tracking system, spanning more than 4,000 locations in more than 40 countries.
