Software and hardware integration can access any Internet of Things project.

ZARAGOZA, Spain and REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Libelium, a wireless sensor networks platform provider for Smart Cities solutions, has signed an agreement with Telefónica, one of the world's largest telecommunications groups, to include Libelium's Waspmote Plug & Sense! wireless sensors in the Smart Cities portfolio of Telefónica.

Telefónica Smart Cities customers will be able to choose Libelium sensors from the Telefónica portfolio as part of their Smart Cities portfolio. Initial product focus areas include 27 different Smart Cities applications, including traffic management, water management, security, environment and agriculture monitoring.

"Partnering with Telefónica reinforces our position as an enabler of Smart Cities solutions, and we add a sales channel with one of the world's main carriers," said Alicia Asin, CEO of Libelium. "The integration was very easy due to Waspmote's modularity."
