February 23, 2010

The additions include the Spider ATr for recovery applications and the ATp can tie in to an external power source.

RICHARDSON, TX -- Enfora, a provider of intelligent wireless networking solutions today announced that they have added the Spider ATr and Spider ATp to their Spider Asset Tag (AT) product family, which is designed to manage, monitor and track valuable enterprise assets, such as trailers, containers, or supply materials and equipment.

The Spider AT product family has been developed specifically to address the need to wirelessly connect remote, untethered assets that are non-powered or have access to power on an occasional basis. The Spider ATr is aimed at recovery applications and provides the capability to track assets through frequent position reporting while still optimizing battery life. Additionally, a built in temperature sensor supports temperature logging and monitoring for those deployments that require visibility to out of range fluctuations. The Spider ATp provides the capability to tie into an external power source, when available, and maintain long life on its internal battery pack. As with other Spider AT products, users of the Spider ATr and ATp are able to retrieve critical information about their assets, including asset movement, based on user-defined alerts, specific events or geofences. The Spider AT is IP66 rated and a version has been ATEX certified for intrinsic safety environments. The Spider ATr and Spider ATp are IP67 rated.

"Many Enterprises are now looking to utilize Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solutions to enhance their business and service models," said Steve Priestley, vice president, enterprise sales for Enfora. "Our Spider AT family and M2M Services Gateway platform has been specifically designed to easily and wirelessly enable a seamless connection from the asset to the Enterprise."

Configured to work seamlessly with the Spider AT product family, Enfora's M2M Services Gateway platform provides a user-friendly environment to directly connect, manage and configure wireless devices from existing enterprise applications. Users are provided with a detailed view of their mobile assets, enabling proactive management and systematic upgrades when needed. The Services Gateway supports browser-based administration, enterprise standards-based interfaces and firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) support. The Spider AT product and Services Gateway platform bring together the key hardware and software elements required to enhance the rapid deployment of business applications while providing the tie-in to existing IT infrastructure.
