Adimec Debuts Q-12A65 Machine Vision Camera

October 24, 2013

Based on the CMV12000 image sensor, the latest addition to the QUARTZ CMOS camera series offers high resolution at high speeds for demanding inspection and metrology equipment.

EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS /Marketwired/ -- Adimec, a world leader in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, announces the release of the latest member of the CMOS-based QUARTZ series, the Q-12A65. The Q-12A65 camera is based on the CMOSIS CMV12000 image sensor and delivers 12 Megapixel at 66 fps.

This camera was previously available to a select group of customers for evaluation and is now commercially available within our standard product offering. By using the evaluation feedback, Adimec tuned and improved the Q-12A65 to be the ideal machine vision camera for demanding inspection and complex metrology systems. The result is a stable and reliable camera that excels in delivering highly uniform images with linear response. The Q-12A65 is a 12 megapixel CMOS global shutter camera and delivers images of 4096 by 3072 pixels at 66 fps. It is equipped with the camera link deca interface but also supports full configurations. The high sensitivity and superb shutter performance of the CMV12000 image sensor enables excellent performance in light-starved and high-speed applications.

As with other members of the QUARTZ family, the new camera offers a range of quality-enhancing features. It includes Adimec's active sensor control, with local as well as global advanced flat field correction, even in color and with field calibration support. The camera has special additional functions such as for signal-to-noise adjustments, with up to 12 dB shot noise improvement compared with off-the-shelf CMV12000 sensor performance. It also offers an HDR mode for wide dynamic range scene capture.

The Adimec QUARTZ series is the "most versatile line of high-performance cameras in the market," with a wide range of capabilities for a variety of applications. QUARTZ cameras combine proven global shutter CMOS technology with the Adimec True Accurate Imaging approach for superior image quality, with unmatched speed and functionality. The QUARTZ series includes 2 megapixel models and 4 megapixel models, in addition to the new 12 megapixel.
