LBT-886 Receives FCC and IC CertificationJune 11, 2013
The asset tracking device certifications were the last major governmental obstacles the company needed to overcome before launching the 886 for use in the mass consumer markets.
IRVINE, CA -- Location Based Technologies Inc. has received FCC and IC certification for its versatile LBT-886 device. These certifications are necessary before devices can be sold to consumers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The LBT-886 device is available for manufacture in a 2G or 3G variant. The 3G penta-band variant will enable the device to function in countries that only operate on the 3G spectrum, such as Australia, South Korea, Japan, and some areas of Canada. This global tracking solution also delivers additional features such as various environmental sensors or comes with an attachment with special capability designed to meet lone-worker or personnel security requirements.
"We've been working on the FCC/IC certification for several months," said LBT CEO, Dave Morse. "These certifications were the last major governmental obstacles we needed to overcome before launching the 886 for use in the mass consumer markets."
The LBT-886 is a versatile and robust product that can last for up to 4 months on a single charge. It can also be attached to almost any vehicle battery with a wiring harness that will provide permanent power. Although the LBT-886 is primarily designed for commercial use, it will eventually supplement LBT's current consumer vehicle device, which is currently sold under the PocketFinder Vehicle brand through Apple.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and Brookstone.com.
