DALSA Ranked Leading MEMS Foundry

Market research firm Yole Developpement placed DALSA in the top position because of the company’s revenue growth in 2009.


WATERLOO, ONTARIO /Marketwire/ -- DALSA Corp. is pleased to announce that it has been ranked as the world's leading independent pure-play MEMS foundry by Yole Developpement, a market research firm specializing in MEMS, in their Annual Top 30 MEMS Company Ranking. DALSA joins the Top 30 list for the first time, bolstered by a 19% year-over-year U.S. dollar increase in MEMS revenue in 2009, the third highest growth rate among all MEMS suppliers.

In declaring DALSA's top independent pure-play position, Yole attributed DALSA's success "to significant demand for MEMS products and the start of [DALSA's] new 200 mm MEMS line in 2009." The report went on to say that "MEMS foundries have affirmed their winning business model, benefiting from long-term developments and important contracts now at the commercialization stage."
